Drissia CHOUIT, Ph.D., is a Full Professor of Comparative Linguistics, Communication and Media Studies, and Member of the Research Laboratory LaRCIGALS, Moulay Ismail University of Meknes, Morocco. She obtained her Ph.D. in Linguistics and Communication from the Sorbonne Nouvelle University (Paris 3), France.

Dr. Drissia CHOUIT is the Representative of Moulay Ismail University of Meknes to the UNESCO-UNAOC-UNITWIN University Network on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) and Intercultural Dialogue; she has been very active in this University Network since its creation in June 2011 (https://www.unesco.org/en/milid-network) .

She was Globally elected as Co-Chair of the International Steering Committee (ISC) of the UNESCO Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Alliance for the term 2023-2025 UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Alliance | UNESCO. She is a Founding Member of MEDEA, Mediterranean Europe and Africa, launched in October 2023 https://medeamed.org/about-us/ and the Director and Host of the Series "International E- Seminars on Contemporary Issues in Media and Information Literacy (124) International E-Seminars on MIL - YouTube).

Former Consultant to UNESCO in Linguistics and Communication, she has ten years experience in Diplomacy and International Relations, and over twenty years experience in teaching Comparative Linguistics, Communication and Media Studies and Media and Information Literacy, with a focus on Meta-operational Linguistics, Media Linguistics, News Literacy, and Media and Information Literacy in the Digital Age. She has also taught Communication and Leadership, Communication and Translation, Study Skills and Research Methods, Grammar in Context, and Academic Writing.

She has a number of publications, lectures as Guest / Keynote Speaker both as a Linguist and as an International MIL Expert, and papers presented at international conferences on Meta-operational Linguistics, Peace Linguistics, Communication Strategies in Media and Translation, News Literacy, Media and Information Literacy in the Digital Age, Fighting Disinformation and Countering Extremism and Hate Speech.
